Choosing the right sized crusher to suit your project

Crushers come in all shapes and sizes so when you’re choosing a crusher that will suit your specific
requirements, you can rest assured that there are plenty of options available.

There are many different types of crushers on the market, ranging from jaw action crushers to
gyratory crushers, but you will quickly come to realise that one size doesn’t fit all. When selecting
the size of your crusher, you must consider how you are intending to use it and the needs it will
need to meet in order to guarantee the success of your project.

So whether you are looking to purchase or hire a crusher, take into account the following
considerations before making your decision to ensure that you get the best value for your money.

Available space

While it may be an obvious point to consider, space is a major factor in determining which size of
crusher will be suitable for your project. A quarry will have ample outside space available for some
of the market’s largest and most powerful crushers, while the same cannot be said for a business
offering on-demand crushing for small-scale residential projects.

Crushers such as our 4000 can be manoeuvred to pass through doorways, meaning back garden sites
and awkward spaces can be easily accessed. Just make sure there’s enough space to safely operate
the crusher to avoid any accidents.

Input vs output

Different sized crushers will have different crushing capabilities, so it’s important to consider what
your needs are when deciding on the right crusher. The larger the crusher, the larger the feeder and
the more material you will be able to crush in one go.

Our 7000 is a 700mm x 400mm jaw action crusher which allows for output product sizes to range
from 30mm to 120mm, whereas our 5000 offers much smaller output product sizes – ranging from
20mm to 100mm. And because it’s only 1665mm wide, it can enter sites where access and space are
restricted.

Budget

When it comes to looking at your bottom line, if your budget doesn’t allow for the crusher you want,
you may have to wait and save up. Crushers can be a costly purchase, so hiring a machine may be
more cost-effective if you’re using it for a short period of time. To find a Red Rhino machine in your

Companies will also offer a variety of finance options to make purchasing a crusher more accessible
by allowing you to pay the machine off in instalments over a certain amount of time. To find out
